So it's been forever since I posted last.....sorry! Life, kids, RS calling, winter.....it all hit and I pretty much let everything go!! So here is an update on us:
Jenessa
She turned 8 in February!! I can't believe she is getting so big. Her baptism will be April 23. We waited a couple of months because Heber's parents are coming out to visit then and we thought it would be nice to have some family here for the occasion. Her hip and mouth have completely healed with no complications and she is back to gymnastics, ballet and playing freeze tag at recess. She runs and plays hard, coming home every day with the knees of her jeans bright green from grass stains! She is in 2nd grade and doing great in school! Her new favorite color is light blue and she is starting soccer next week for the first time and she can hardly wait. She loves that she is growing up and able to attend achievement days at church, wants to do her own hair, asks to wear lip gloss whenever we go out, is a huge helper around the house, will mother any baby or younger child who will let her, loves to talk to me and tell me everything that is going on in her life, and really is just a wonderful, fun, full-of-life girl!
Taiya
Taiya is still in preschool twice a week at the YMCA, as well as gymnastics and ballet. She is also going to start soccer next week and is so excited because all of her best friends will also be on her team! She can't wait until school starts next year because she will get to be in Kindergarten!! Taiya is my cuddly one and loves to give random hugs and kisses throughout the day, or just climb on my lap and snuggle. She just learned this spring how to ride her bike without training wheels and we can hardly get her off of it! (She could actually ride it last summer was was too scared to keep going. I guess she needed the winter to get her courage up!) Taiya also LOVES to do crafts and you can often find her cutting/gluing and taping her latest project. (Her most recent creation were pajamas for her new Zuzu pet hamster). Her favorite foods are ramen noodles, spaghetti, big carrots, whole tomatoes (she eats them like an apple!), apples and berries. She is incredibly picky about her food and that has been a definite challenge.
Taevin
He turned 3 in March and still rocks my world!!! He is so fun, crazy, ornery, energetic, cuddly, and independent - he definitely keeps me on my toes!! His new favorite thing is sticks - he is constantly collecting them wherever we are and I will find multiple piles in the garage, the house, the car and throughout the yard. His sticks are everything from swords, to fire, to guns, to who knows what....but heaven forbid we throw one away! :) He really likes to be independent....I just really don't like the messes that result from the independence! Oh well, they have to learn I guess. Taevin loves to play outside with sticks (of course), or digging in the mud or just running as fast as he can. Taiya is his best friend and I don't know what he will do when she starts school next year. Even with his independent nature he can be a total Mommy's boy! He loves for me to hold him and would probably be happy if I could just carry him around the house most of the day. :) He loves his hair "spiky," superheros (i.e. spiderman, batman and superman), cars, trains, eating eggs, reading books, dinosaurs, sticks, dirt, and doing anything with his Dad! He had tubes put in his ears in January, because of chronic ear infections. It has helped with the infections, but they keep getting plugged so that has been a pain.
Me (Liora)
I have been busy with life! I am the second counselor in RS and in charge of the RS activities every month, so that combined with being a single mom, the horrible, horrible, dark, dark winters here and the housework that comes with a family of five, I have let some things fall by the wayside! The winters here and the lack of sun really cause me to fall into a funk! I have come to realize since living here that I am a creature of the sun, I NEED it, I LOVE it, and when I don't get it for months on end (no exaggeration) I lose my drive!! It's not a good thing! :) But, spring is slowly coming, the sun is slowly starting to appear more, and I am slowly getting things back together!
The other big news in my life is that we are expecting baby #4!! We are really excited! We have been trying since last April, and for some reason it took us a lot longer than normal this time. We actually also had a miscarriage in September, during the same time as Jenessa's surgery. It happened really soon after we found out we were expecting, so it wasn't too terrible, but needless to say we are REALLY excited about this baby! I am 19 weeks, due August 24, and we just found out yesterday that it is another little boy!! Heber is really excited! During the ultrasound he was moving like crazy! So much so, that it took a long time for them to get all the measurements they needed! This makes me very nervous because Taevin was such a crazy mover when I was pregnant with him and he hasn't stopped.....I guess my dreams of a mellow baby boy are out the window! :)
Heber
He is working like crazy, but still loving the ER. He gets to see some pretty crazy stuff and do some pretty "fun" procedures, so that makes him happy! Right now he is working on getting all of his requirements done so he can join the life flight team. He was able to go on two flights last weekend and really liked it. He also just joined the DMAT team - it is a government run disaster medicine team, but they are only paid if they are sent on missions. They get deployed with the military and go to any disaster sights - for instance they sent doctors to Haiti, and also to the gulf when the oil spill happened. Heber has yet to be sent out to a disaster sight, but he is going to Maryland for a week of training this month.
Well, I think that about sums up our life! I am not promising anything, but hopefully I will be a little more regular at posting to our blog! Miss you all and Happy Spring!!
