My sisters, Cherri and Chynna, came out to visit for a couple of weeks (June 30 - July 17)...it was SO wonderful having them here!!! I realize just how much I miss my family when they come to visit! Jenessa cried and cried the night they left, we had so much fun hanging out with them - they will definitely be missed. Just to warn you, this post is PICTURE HEAVY!!! But here is just a little taste of the fun we had with them:
Me and my Sisters! Aren't they cute?
Cherri, Liora, Chynna
We celebrated the 4th of July on the 3rd this year. We went swimming in the morning and then we got together and had a yummy BBQ, lit sparklers, and watched the Maumee fireworks with some great friends, the Ericksons. It was a really fun night.
All the kids dressed up for the 4th!
Back: Cherri & Chynna; Middle: Haylee Erickson, Taiya, Kaitlyn Erickson, Jenessa; Front: Taevin
Chynna
Taevin LOVED the sparklers!
At the fireworks that night. We were sitting almost as close as you could get to the city fireworks, and it didn't even phase Taevin. I thought he would be a little more nervous, but he acted like nothing out of the ordinary was even going on!
We took the girls up to Lake Erie and played in the Maumee Bay.
Taiya swimming
Me and cute Cherri
Cherri, Chynna and Taiya turning Jenessa into a mermaid.
Chynna and Heber having a water fight.
Jenessa, Chynna and Heber by the sand castle we built.
We could hardly keep Taevin from destroying the sand castle as we were building it, and as soon as we were finished he promptly set about demolishing it! Little boys!
Cherri and Chynna also threw a princess tea party for Jenessa and Taiya. I took the kids out of the house while Cherri and Chynna set up. When we got home they met Jenessa and Taiya at the door with invitations, and princess dresses, then surprised them with the fancy table all set and ready for the party. To say my girls loved it would be an understatement!! They were in heaven!!!!
Taevin couldn't stand to be left out, so he brought me a dress to put on him and he joined the girls! We really need to get some prince/knight dress ups for him!!
It was so fun to have my sisters here for my birthday this year! I was actually incredibly lucky, because not only were my sisters here, but Heber also had the day off! Can't get any better than that! I was spoiled all day with breakfast in bed, time to go out and shop with no kids, just Heber, time to read and take a nap, and to go out to dinner with Heber. We also went to a glass blowing demonstration with everyone in the afternoon. It was kinda neat to see. They were making a half panda half man sculpture (kinda weird), but neat to see them work with the glass
They have to keep reheating the glass every 30 sec or so in these big ovens.
Putting an ear on the panda man.
After dinner, we came home and had cake and ice cream with everyone. It was a really wonderful day!
Heber got me a Reese's Dairy Queen ice cream cake....YUM!!!
Can't believe I'm 28! (notice Taiya in the background....typical Taiya pose!)
Later that night Cherri did a photo shoot of me and Heber....some are really cute, some are a little funny and some are a little crazy! But it was a lot of fun with a lot of laughing! :)
Our last big trip was to visit Kirtland. It is always such a spiritual and faith building experience to go there, I love it!
Painting of what the log school house on the Morley farm could have looked like. The building is no longer standing, but it is still a sacred place.
Walking up the trail to the site of where the school house use to stand at the Morley farm.
Love my boys!
Site of the school house. As we are sitting and listening to the senior missionary tell the story of the Morley Farm, Taevin picks up a handful of the wood chips on the ground and throws it at him! Thankfully the missionary had a sense of humor and just smiled at Taevin and said "boys wouldn't be boys if they weren't throwing things!" I was so embarrassed though! Little stinker!
Where the Morley farm once stood.
The driveway at the farm was lined with gravel and Taevin had a hay day stuffing his pockets full of rocks. It's hard to tell, but his pockets are BULGING with rocks.....it was causing his pants to fall down they were so heavy! We had to empty his pockets before we got back in the car and he was devastated, so we let him keep one and that seemed to appease him!
In the John Johnson house.
Chynna & Cherri on the front steps of the Johnson home.
After we finished in Kirtland we went to eat at an Amish restaurant nearby. We even got to seem some Amish on the way....it was pretty exciting! :)
One day while Cherri and Chynna were here they did Taevin's hair in a mohawk....it was so cute and totally fit his personality! He actually loved it too!
I loved having my sisters here!! HeberTaevin bonded with them. When we took them to the airport and they said goodbye, Taevin started sobbing and just kept saying, "wee, wee, wee!" (that was how he said Cherri.). Thanks for coming girls! We love you and miss you! Guess now it's back to real life! ;)

Family is definitely the best!! Glad you got to spend such quality time with those cute sisters of yours.
So fun to have sisters. My kids adore their aunties too. What a fun change. You are always so daring with your hair. Love that about you.

I am so glad you posted. It was a great post! Thanks for calling me the other day. It was SO fun to talk to you.
Also Happy birthday! For some reason I had no idea that we were the same age, I always thought you were a little older....probably because of Janessa. Kids will do that to you.
Wow! You guys have been busy. I remember being at the John Johnson home. I'm glad you were all able visit and go do all those neat things. Taevin sure is a cutie as well as your girls. We wish we could see you more.
Sisters are the BEST! That's awesome they could visit! I love that Taevin wanted to put on the princess dress, Evan did the same thing:) I think that's just what happens when they have older sisters.
I loved the tea party. I would love to come home to that. Looks like you are having a great summer.
I'm SO glad they got to come for a visit. We didn't get much family out to visit us (we had to have a baby to get anyone to visit).
We were shocked that Taevin actually let you build a sand castle...though it didn't last long.
We miss you guys. For that last 3 days Jordan has been a broken record "Do you know what I miss? I miss Taiya. She is my best friend. Jenessa is Kailyn's best friend," to anyone that will listen
Liora you're blonde!!! It looks so cute! I wish I could have been there with all of you, it looks like you had tons of fun! Love you all!!
What a fun time! Your sisters are all so sweet...I loved that they took the time and effort to throw a tea party for your girls. Those things mean the world to kids! Oh, and happy birthday! Ah, to be 28 again...:) You look great!
