Camping

We are so excited!! Heber took his last final for medical school on Friday, the 18!! He just has boards in three weeks and then the didactic part of medical school is behind him!! After boards he starts rotations July 2. We are so excited for this next stage of med school. These last two years have been grueling, and Heber is definitely ready for a change of pace. We are too, rumor has it that rotations are much easier on family life, so we can looking forward to playing with Dad a lot more - we are all looking forward to that!!

To celebrate the end of the second year we went camping up in Sedona, AZ with some friends - Shelly and Ken Bassett and their kids, Kaylynn (3), Jordan (2), and Caden (7 mo.); along with Ken's sister Brenda, her husband Andrew and their kids Kyla (3), and Brevin (abt. 7 mo.). It was so much fun and so relaxing!!

We camped at Cave Springs campground in the Oak Creek Canyon - it was absolutely gorgeous!! Tons of red rock mountains set against the beautiful green of the ponderosa pine forest. The girls had a blast getting down and dirty! We weren't even at our camp site an hour and Taiya already looked like we had been there for weeks!!

On Saturday, the 19, we went to Slide Rock - which is a natural water slide. The water was freezing but it was beautiful and fun to play in anyway. Jenessa was even brave enough to go down the big water slide with me once.

Andrew does a lot of rock climbing, so when we got back to camp he set up a little climb for everyone - it actually turned out to be a pretty tough climb but everyone had fun trying!

We also went to Red Rock Crossing and saw Cathedral Rock. It was definitely a much needed family vacation!

Our camera's battery was almost dead while we were camping - so we don't have many pictures. Thankfully Ken and Shelly took a lot - we will get copies when they get back in town and then put up a slide show of all our adventures!!
